Overview

The gas discipline of Municipal Affairs is responsible for establishing and interpreting the gas codes, standards and respective regulations under the Safety Codes Act.

This includes gas codes for the installation of gas-fired appliances, equipment, components, accessories, field approvals, propane storage and handling, compressed, and liquefied natural gas refuelling stations,  natural gas or propane alternate fuel systems on motor vehicles, digester, landfill, and biogas systems, and hydrogen generating, utilization, storage, piping and dispensing systems.
