With continued warmer temperatures, the wildfire danger is now extreme in Fort McMurray and very high in Fort Chipewyan and Fort Fitzgerald. Wildfires can start easily and spread quickly under these conditions. Please use extra caution when spending time outdoors and avoid activities that could create sparks or potentially start a wildfire.

Campfire safety
Before heading outdoors, check Alberta Fire Bans for current fire advisories, restrictions and bans. Keep campfires within a proper fire ring on a non-combustible surface, never leave a fire unattended and always keep water nearby.
When extinguishing a campfire, soak it, stir it and soak it again until it is cool to the touch.
