Overview
The Addiction Bed Exploration Dashboard is a tool providing bed availability for publicly funded detox, treatment and recovery beds. The dashboard is available under the Alberta Recovery Model to help strengthen collaboration across the recovery-oriented system of care and provides transparency into addiction bed capacity.
The dashboard is an information and bed exploration tool. Service providers maintain their own operational methods and should be contacted directly to confirm availability and intake processes.
This tool does not contain waitlist data or the ability to reserve beds. Bed numbers displayed are not intended to be an audit of total bed counts within the mental health and addiction system.
How it works
Publicly funded service sites providing detox, treatment and recovery beds are listed on the dashboard and can be filtered by search criteria to meet individual needs.
Search criteria include:
- service type
- age group
- gender
- health zone (corridor)
The dashboard provides the following search results:
- a list of sites meeting selected criteria
- whether beds are available or occupied at each site
- bed types at the selected location (detox, treatment or recovery)
- age and gender considerations by site
- site information and contact details
Data is updated daily, Monday through Friday. Site cards will show the time of the last update was completed.
How to use the tool
- Set filters to desired settings.
- Review site cards with availability based on your selected criteria.
- Click into individual site cards for facility information.
- Contact the site to confirm availability.
The dashboard does not guarantee placement or the ability to reserve beds and is for information and coordination purposes only.

Data included on the dashboard is aggregate only. Personal and health information is not included on the dashboard. The dashboard is an operational capacity tool, designed to protect privacy while supporting efficient, system‑level coordination.
