Family Support for Children with Disabilities engagement

Albertans shared their feedback on ways to enhance and modernize program supports.

Overview

We gathered feedback on ways to deliver Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) services effectively and sustainably, so families can continue to access them into the future.

Over the past decade, the FSCD program has experienced significant caseload growth and is facing fiscal challenges to meet caseload demand. Feedback collected will help improve the program within the constraints of Alberta’s current fiscal reality.

The FSCD program provides a wide range of supports and services to the families of children with disabilities, including:

  • counselling
  • respite
  • child care
  • behavioural and developmental supports
