Overview
Funding for the school year is a commitment of what each board will be paid during that school year.
We let school authorities know how much provincial funding is available by the end of April each year, instead of September when the school year has already started. From the 2020/21 school year to the 2024/25 school year, funding was based on a 3-year weighted average.
Beginning in the 2025/26 school year, the amount of funding paid to a school authority will be based on their 2-year adjusted enrolment.
This approach provides predictability in funding.
