Overview

The Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park protect 80,000 hectares of important fish and wildlife habitats, shared international wildlife populations, and provide headwater protection.

The Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park Draft Management Plan consultation was conducted from January 20 to April 19, 2017. Thousands of Albertans provided their input around opportunities and experiences within the new Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park.

All public and stakeholder input received was considered and included in the Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park Management Plan.

The management plan will allow for the conservation of these critical and sensitive areas while supporting a vibrant tourism and recreation economy. First Nations will play an ongoing and critical role in the management of the parks through a co-operative management advisory board.
