Wildfire update

Calgary Forest Area - November 13, 2025

Moderate wildfire danger

The wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area is moderate. Mild temperatures and dry conditions have kept the fire danger elevated, especially in areas that have not received recent moisture. Strong winds and very dry vegetation are creating conditions where wildfires can spread quickly. The fire danger will remain elevated until the area receives significant moisture.

Wildfire situation

CWF069 remains classified as out of control and is estimated at 3.5 hectares in size. It is located in the Porcupine Hills area, approximately 6 km north of Highway 520 and 10 km east of Highway 22. The area continues to experience very strong winds. This wildfire is not currently threatening any communities or infrastructure.

CWF067 is now classified as being held. This means that given current weather conditions and resources, the wildfire is not expected to grow beyond existing boundaries. Firefighters will remain on scene to extinguish hot spots and continue working to bring this fire under control.

Since January 1, 2025, there have been 69 wildfires in the Calgary Forest Area which have burned almost 67 hectares. View wildfire locations, statistics and more on the Alberta Wildfire Status Dashboard.
