Wildfire update

Calgary Forest Area - May 27, 2025

High wildfire danger

The wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area has climbed to high. Extremely warm temperatures combined with very strong winds will continue to increase the wildfire danger over the coming days. Although cooler temperatures and the possibility of rain are in the forecast for the coming weekend, we are anticipating several days of high to very high wildfire danger.

Remember to review the conditions on your fire permit carefully. The conditions will note that you should never burn in windy conditions. Help reduce the number of human-caused wildfires.
