Low wildfire danger
A return to winter conditions with cold temperatures and widespread snowfall has decreased the wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area to low.
Fire advisory lifted
The fire advisory that had been in place since February 4 is now lifted due to widespread snow and cold temperatures.
Wildfire situation
Firefighters from the Calgary Forest Area, along with municipal partners, have responded to 9 wildfires in 2026. They have all been extinguished.
CWF009 was detected on February 16 and extinguished at 0.01 ha. It was determined to be an abandoned campfire that escaped the fire ring.
