Calgary Forest Area - August 07, 2025

Low wildfire danger

The average wildfire danger across the Calgary Forest Area remains low. Rain showers and thunderstorms have continued to develop and move through the area over the past week helping to maintain a low wildfire danger. Although the forecast is calling for increased temperatures, it will take several days of drying before the wildfire danger increases substantially.

Wildfire situation

There are currently no active wildfires in the Calgary Forest Area.

Fire permits are required

Even in cooler and wet conditions, fire permits are still required for any burning activities in the Forest Protection Area, excluding campfires. This includes fireworks and exploding targets, which are prohibited without prior written permission. Fire permits are free and can be requested online.
