Overview

All driver training instructors, including those who do not charge a fee, require a licence to provide driver training.

  • Eligibility criteria differ depending on the class of instructors’ licence you are applying for.
  • Application processes differ depending on whether you are applying for a licence for the first time, renewing a licence, or seeking to convert your out-of-province driving instructor credentials.

This page provides introductory information. For more detailed information, see section 3.00.01 of the Licensed Driver Training School Procedures Manual. Driving instructor applicants must meet all requirements listed in this manual.
