A volunteer vet for more than 30 years, Vivian has stepped up to support numerous community events including local festivals and bingos. But it is the time she has contributed as a volunteer at charitable gaming casino dates where her impact has perhaps been greatest.

In 2022, Vivian volunteered more than 1,400 hours working 158 shifts to raise funds for local charities and non-profits, with each shift earning the organization approximately $2,300. In 2022 Vivian helped raise almost $370,000 for various non-profits in the city. She almost matched that total in 2023, working 157 shifts and contributing 1,300 hours to raise over $360,000.
Vivian also helps to keep the spirits of her fellow volunteers high, her enthusiasm and good nature making her a favorite with volunteers, casino staff and management alike.
For putting the fun into fundraising and helping to ensure local non-profits have the resources to deliver important programs and services to the community, Vivian Giese is a deserving recipient of Northern Lights Recognition honours.
