Since 1969, Edmonton Meals on Wheels has been delivering hot, nutritious meals to seniors, those recovering from injury or illness and disabled citizens – each serving seasoned with a smile.

With a highly skilled kitchen crew guided by a Red Seal chef in a facility that is part of the Alberta Health Services’ Serving Safer Food Alberta Program, clients are assured of quality, healthy meals. If clients prefer to do the cooking but are unable to make the trip to the grocery store, Meals and Wheels offers programs that deliver the ingredients to the door.

At the heart of Meals on Wheels is a dedicated team of volunteers.

For many Meals on Wheels clients, volunteers are a daily connection with their communities. Through their community service, these volunteers are feeding both body and soul.  COVID-19 has made those daily visits even more important. More that 80% of clients credit Meals on Wheels in helping them to remain in their homes and feel more independent and socially connected with their community.

A community non-profit, Meals on Wheels enjoys the support of the community. Along with the many long‑serving volunteers are the many long-time donors – local businesses that have stepped up to help ensure Edmontonians can access affordable, nutritious meals.

From the kitchen, to the delivery van, to the board table, the volunteers and staff of Edmonton Meals on Wheels are driving the organization’s mission to support the health, well-being and independence of Edmontonians – and helping to strengthen the community.
