Vehicle inspections

Ensuring vehicles being driven on our roads are in safe operating condition, and not stolen or built from stolen components.

Introduction

The Vehicle Inspection Program (VIP) mirrors that of the other provinces and territories. We inspect and monitor vehicles coming into the province and vehicles that have been in a collision to maintain a safe highway system. Out of province inspections must be conducted in a licensed facility, by a journeyperson technician. All inspection facilities are licensed by the Vehicle Inspection Program.
