Update Alberta business registration in BC, Manitoba or Saskatchewan

Keep your registration active when your Alberta business is registered in BC, Manitoba or Saskatchewan.

Overview

You must provide an update when:

  • your Alberta corporation, cooperative, limited liability partnership (LLP) or limited partnership (LP) has changed its name
  • your Alberta corporation or cooperative has amalgamated with another corporation or cooperative
  • your business no longer operates in BC, Manitoba or Saskatchewan
  • your Alberta cooperative has been dissolved or your Alberta LLP registration has been cancelled
  • there is a change of home jurisdiction (from Alberta to another province or country)
  • there is a change to the BC, Manitoba or Saskatchewan attorney for your business
  • your Alberta corporation has been revived and you want your registration restored in BC, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan or you want to re-register your Alberta cooperative, LP or LLP in those provinces
  • there is a change to your cooperative or LLP’s BC, Manitoba or Saskatchewan head office

There is no cost to register these updates.

BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan Corporate Registry will mail a new certificate when your corporation or cooperative name change, amalgamation or reinstatement/restoral has been processed.

Alberta Corporate Registry will advise BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan when your Alberta corporation or LP has been dissolved or cancelled. This will result in the automatic cancellation of your extra-provincial registration in these provinces.

You must directly report cancellation or dissolution of your Alberta LLP or cooperative to BC, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan. This will also result in the cancellation of your registration in those provinces.
