Alberta corporation
Alberta corporations need to provide an authorized Corporate Registry service provider with address or director updates within 15 days of a change and agent for service updates as soon as they occur.
Step 1. Gather information
If your corporation is changing its agent or alternative agent for service or if this is the first time you are appointing an alternative agent for service, you will need to get:

The agent or alternative agent must be an individual and must have a physical and mailing address within Alberta.
The agent for service and the alternative agent for service do not have to be with the same firm and can be located at different addresses within Alberta. The new agent or alternative agent must consent to their appointment.
When the agent for service has resigned, they must give 60 days notice of their resignation to the corporation and notice of the resignation has to be reported to Corporate Registry.
When the corporation has revoked the appointment of an agent for service, the revocation date must be reported to Corporate Registry.
Failure to appoint a new agent for service within one year of the previous agent's revocation or resignation means your corporation can be dissolved by the Registrar of Corporations.
If your corporation is changing directors, you will need to get:
- names and addresses of incoming directors
- appointment dates of incoming directors
- names of outgoing directors
- resignation or cessation dates of outgoing directors
Directors must be at least 18 years old.
