Overview
The Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) helps Alberta small- and medium-sized enterprises expand exports, increase revenue and create jobs.
Each TAP cohort features a 4-session initiative that guides entrepreneurs through strategic export planning, available trade resources and the essentials of international growth.
Participants receive personalized coaching, gain insights into global trade complexities, connect with industry experts and develop a tailored export plan based on international best practices.
TAP was originally created by Toronto Board of Trade and Calgary Economic Development delivers the program in Alberta. Since 2018, more than 660 Albertan companies have participated in TAP and secured over 200 trade deals across 50 international markets.
The Government of Alberta is proud to be the anchor sponsor of TAP starting in 2025. TAP is a key part how government supports companies to expand their exports, along with trade missions and the Alberta Export Expansion Program.
