Overview
The Regional Agricultural Societies Operating Grant supports long term sustainability through funding that helps strengthen governance, community impact, asset management, agricultural initiatives and accountability.

Funding
To access funding, regionals are to submit their proposed eligible expenses for the upcoming year. Recipients will be required to submit reporting that supports the activities conducted.

Eligibility
To receive a grant, applicants must:
- provide planning documents including:
- Business Plan
- Strategic Plan
- Asset Management Plan with infrastructure priorities clearly defined
- be a regional agricultural society in good standing under the Agricultural Societies Act
Eligible expenses
Regional Agricultural Societies must submit their proposed expenses for the year, ensuring that all activities meet the Program’s criteria.
Examples of eligible expenses include:
- Base Grant:
- operational expenses
- utilities (heat and power)
- insurance
- salaries, benefits, wages and honorariums
- operational expenses
- Agricultural events and Programming:
- agricultural education and training
- farm safety and mental health
- farmers markets
- Open Farm Days events
- agricultural trade shows and conferences
- equine events and programs
- rodeo, chuckwagons, 4-H activities
