The following files provide the municipal population figures recognized by Alberta Municipal Affairs as of September 1 of the municipal census year. The information found in each file is organized by the type of municipality.
The Municipal Affairs Population List has been discontinued and will be replaced by population estimates from Treasury Board and Finance in the future.

Provincial population estimates and projections
The Office of Statistics and Information at Treasury Board and Finance provides regular population estimates and projections for each census division in Alberta. Please note that population figures between the municipal population lists and the provincial population estimates and projections will differ due to different methodologies used to account for population.
