Albertans had the opportunity to learn about how we’re making life more affordable during telephone town halls with Cabinet Ministers on February 16 and 21.

Biography

Matthew Jones was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the constituency of Calgary-South East on April 16, 2019.

Mr. Jones is a member of the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future, the Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing.

Mr. Jones is a CFA Charter holder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.

Before he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Mr. Jones worked as an investment banker helping Alberta based businesses with capital raises, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Mr. Jones was sworn in as the Minister of Affordability and Utilities on October 24, 2022. He previously served as as the Minister of Children's Services.
