Ministers' Council on the Canadian Francophonie
The Ministers' Council on the Canadian Francophonie (MCCF) is an intergovernmental organization that comprises federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for the Canadian Francophonie.
The Ministers' Council works on various issues related to the Canadian Francophonie, provides direction for intergovernmental cooperation and plays a unifying role in support of the country’s Francophonie.
The Government of Alberta joined the MCCF in 1999. The minister responsible for the Francophone Secretariat meets annually with other MCCF member ministers to discuss intergovernmental questions involving the Canadian Francophonie, develop best practices and engage in a dialogue aimed at strengthening the country’s linguistic duality.
