Drinking water standards engagement

Stakeholders shared their feedback on the Public Health Guidelines for Non-Municipal Drinking Water.

Overview

We gathered feedback from stakeholders on public non-municipal drinking water to refine the measures in the interim Public Health Guidelines.

Feedback was collected on existing gaps and challenges, and will help us identify ways to improve the measures so they are easier to use and understand for all stakeholders involved.

The guidelines are the first step towards introducing standards for public non-municipal drinking water under the Nuisance and General Sanitation Regulation (Public Health Act).

Stakeholders include:

  • Alberta Health Services
  • associations representing operators of public places that have non-municipal systems
  • operators of non-municipal systems
  • bulk water haulers
