Alberta’s government is providing continued investment in Alberta’s cultural and heritage sites like the Badlands Amphitheatre in Drumheller.

Alberta’s government is supporting Alberta-based film and television productions that provide a training ground for emerging talent through a new training and mentorship incentive under the Alberta Made Production Grant.

Alberta’s government is helping Indigenous and ethnocultural communities preserve and share their history through a $1-million Cultural Heritage Initiatives Grant.

Alberta artists and arts organizations can apply for funding through the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

Our responsibilities

Promoting and celebrating Alberta’s unique cultural identity and heritage by supporting the development and sustainability of the province’s:

  • creative and cultural industries
  • artists and arts community
  • non-profit and voluntary sector
  • historical resources, sites, museums and archives
  • services in French and supports for Alberta Francophone community

The ministry also works to address gender inequality by:

  • expanding economic opportunities for women
  • establishing a strategy to end gender-based violence
  • supporting and engaging Alberta’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ community
