Wildfire update

Calgary Forest Area - June 27, 2025

Moderate wildfire danger

The wildfire danger level is currently moderate heading into the weekend.
Scattered rainfall across the Calgary Forest Area has helped reduce wildfire risk. However, as the region transitions into a warmer and drier period this weekend, please use caution if you're spending time outdoors and do your part to help prevent wildfires.

Wildfire situation

There are currently no active wildfires in the Calgary Forest Area.

If you’re going camping, check Alberta Fire Bans to find out if fire bans or restrictions are in place. Never leave a campfire unattended and always fully extinguish it when you are done. Soak it, stir it and soak it again, until the ashes are cool to the touch.

If you see smoke in the forest, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE (3473).

Canada Day

Celebrate safely this Canada Day. You must have written permission from a Forest Officer to set off fireworks in the Forest Protection Area. Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited without a valid permit. Prevent wildfires by learning more about fireworks and exploding targets.

Several staff members from the Calgary Forest Area will be celebrating Canada Day on July 1 by participating in the Crowsnest Pass parade. Bertie Beaver hopes to see you there!
