The Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) is the new adult education credential that replaced the GED®, which is no longer available in Canada.

In Alberta, the CAEC is available to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and have been out of school for at least 10 consecutive months.

If you are 17 years old and are a home-educated student, you may request an age exemption to write the CAEC tests by completing this form prior to registering for a test. Requests may take up to 20 business days to process.
