Overview

In partnership with the Enoch Cree Nation and the City of Edmonton, we received feedback to inform the proposed establishment of Big Island Provincial Park, a 68 hectare parcel of Crown land in southwest Edmonton along the North Saskatchewan River.

The proposed Big Island Provincial Park would be cooperatively managed by the Government of Alberta, Enoch Cree Nation and City of Edmonton. This tri-governmental approach will ensure a sustainable future for Big Island and protect its ecological, historical and cultural significance.

Your input will help us better understand the perspectives and priorities of Albertans as they relate to the establishment of Big Island Provincial Park.

Online survey

Albertans completed our online survey between June 20 and August 21, 2022, to provide their input on the proposed establishment of Big Island Provincial Park.

Informational webinars

Participants joined online as representatives from the City of Edmonton and the Government of Alberta discussed the proposed establishment of Big Island Provincial Park and answered questions. Webinars were held on June 27 at 7 pm and June 28 at 9 am, and the same information was presented at both sessions.
