Location: Leduc, Alberta
All of the volunteers at the Leduc & District Food Bank are retired seniors, who may be particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Fully understanding the risk and the safety precautions that have been made so they can keep volunteering, these volunteers keep making regular pickups of donations from businesses.
All volunteers were told that they could pause their volunteer commitment, in light of the pandemic; however, the volunteers at the Leduc Food Bank have continued showing up for their shifts. This dedicated group of volunteers is keeping an essential service running.
