From May 2 to July 4, 2020, the Flagstaff Scottish Club Battle River Pipes and Drums Band embarked on a ‘Quarantine Tour’ of Alberta. Overall, the band stopped in 15 communities, often visiting as many as 3 in one day. They posted their schedule on Facebook so Albertans would know when the band would be in their town. Everyone was welcome to come out and enjoy the music, with physical distancing measures in effect.

The band visited hospitals and long-term care homes during the tour, playing for patients, staff and seniors. Due to visitor restrictions at many of these facilities, residents enjoyed the music from a distance and the band played at both sides of the buildings to ensure everyone could enjoy the concert.

Throughout their tour, the Battle River Pipes and Drums Band entertained many Albertans, uplifting spirits and providing some much-needed joy.
