Overview

Francophonie Month is an annual celebration that aims to:

  • highlight the presence and diversity of Francophone and Francophile communities
  • promote the French language in Alberta
  • showcase the work of Francophone organizations
  • raise awareness of community and government initiatives

On March 1, 2018, the Government of Alberta officially proclaimed March as Alberta Francophonie Month. Since then, this period has helped bring communities together and promote Francophonie throughout the province.
