Overview
Francophonie Month is an annual celebration that aims to:
- highlight the presence and diversity of Francophone and Francophile communities
- promote the French language in Alberta
- showcase the work of Francophone organizations
- raise awareness of community and government initiatives
On March 1, 2018, the Government of Alberta officially proclaimed March as Alberta Francophonie Month. Since then, this period has helped bring communities together and promote Francophonie throughout the province.

Francophone Newcomers’ Welcome Celebration

- March (Francophonie Month) is fast approaching, and with it comes our traditional sugar shack! ACFA Jasper Regional is pleased to announce the presence of Joël Lavoie and Dominic Plamondon, who will be there to get everyone dancing and celebrating together!

- The ceremony will recognize Alberta’s declaration of 2026 as the Year of the Francophonie. The theme of this year’s ceremony is The Builders of Our Francophonie.
