Alberta’s government declared September 1 as Alberta Day a celebration of the story of Alberta and an opportunity to tell it again and again, year after year.

Arts, Culture and Status of Women is seeking performers from all genres to apply to perform at Alberta Day celebrations on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Submission deadline

All submissions MUST be received no later than March 30, 2026 at 4:30 pm MST. Successful applicants will be notified in the spring of 2026.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Alberta. This means you must live in Alberta for a least 6 months of each year.

If you are under the age of 18 at the time of selection, a parent or legal guardian must sign the contract as the designate for the funding, and be responsible for:

  • the completeness and accuracy of the application
  • receipt of funding
  • serving as contact person for any inquiries relating to the funding

Ensembles, collectives and collaborations

Ensembles, collectives and collaborations are eligible to apply.

Include:

  • your legal name
  • your email address
  • your phone number
  • the genres that you perform
  • your website address
  • social media account links
  • stage plot and technical rider

Performance fee

Provide rates for 20 minute, 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute long performances.

Musical acts, provide your rates for solo, duo, full band and other relevant options.

How to apply

Fill out the application form below and include:

  • legal name and performing name
  • contact person for any inquiries
  • street and mailing address for the primary applicant
  • contact information for the primary applicant

Attachments

Submit links to the following:

  • artist/ensemble resume of no more than one page
  • a list of recent performances and performance highlights
  • 2 digital music or video selections such as past commercial recording, or performances
