We gathered input from Albertans to finalize a management plan for Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park that supports sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities, Indigenous land uses and cultural experiences.
Your feedback helped ensure that the final management plan will protect the site for years to come.
Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park (Áísínai’pi in the Blackfoot language) is globally recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing Indigenous Rock Art (petroglyphs and pictographs), significant landforms and archeological sites.

Albertans shared feedback through an online survey from April 11 to May 20, 2022.
Albertans also shared their experiences, ideas and perspectives on how to protect the park’s cultural value for future generations.

As partners in ongoing park operations, the Blackfoot Confederacy continues to meet with government to discuss the management plan and its implementation. Together, we can ensure the area is appreciated, understood, enjoyed and managed in sustainable ways now and in the future.
