Getting started
Since early 2024, the Alberta government has been informing holders of Water Act licences regulated by the Alberta government of the transition of water use reporting from the Water Use Reporting System (WURS - closed on May 9, 2025) to the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS).
To report water use in DRAS, begin by:
- Moving your licence into DRAS. View the video and knowledge articles below for more information:

Confirmation email
Licence holders who have moved their licence(s) will receive an email confirming that their licence data has been transferred into DRAS. Once that email has been received, the licence holder and/or their assigned representative can begin using their custom DRAS Dashboard to:
- access licence information
- report water use
- receive important notifications related to their licence(s), and more
