In recognition of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne, several events and activities are being hosted by Alberta’s government. Ranging from garden parties to art contests, there are many ways for Albertans to celebrate the province’s arts, culture and heritage and honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Student art contest

Students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to submit a piece of art to the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Student Art Contest. The pieces must reflect on the history of Queen Elizabeth II in Canada, highlight how Canada has evolved over her reign during the past 70 years and focus on how Canada may grow in the future.

The contest will launch in September and winners will be announced later in the fall.
