Overview
Pesticide vendors can share input to help inform improvements to how pesticide sales data is collected. Pesticide sales in Alberta are subject to reporting regulations and monitoring by the Alberta government since 1993.
We are seeking feedback on any potential barriers they may face in reporting data through this new approach.
Timely and accurate reporting of pesticide sales data is vital in ensuring that Alberta has the appropriate regulatory framework in place for pesticides.

Stakeholder engagement
Holders of pesticide vendor registrations and Agrochemical Warehousing Standards Association certificates have been invited to share feedback through an informational webinar and an online survey by January 9, 2026.
Outcomes
Feedback will be considered to:
- improve pesticide sales data collection processes
- ensure timely and accurate data submissions from vendors
- inform future updates to the Pesticide (Ministerial) Regulations, including potential requirements to report pest control product numbers
Pest control product numbers are unique identifiers assigned to pesticide products by Health Canada and are key to improving data accuracy.
