Overview
The Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) coordinates the delivery of the Alberta’s Environmental Science Program to provide environmental science data, information and reporting on the condition of Alberta’s environment.
Science Seminar Series
The Science Seminar Series, hosted by the OCS, is a regular venue for sharing information relevant to Alberta’s environmental monitoring and science programs. The series is an open forum intended to encourage connections in the science-policy interface through sharing of research findings and program outcomes in understandable and accessible ways.
The OCS aims to host 2 seminars per month from fall to spring, with speakers from across Environment and Protected Areas and external collaborators on relevant and emerging topics from a multiple evidence-based approach, such as:
- ecosystems and change
- fish and wildlife conservation
- climate variability and change
- condition and sustainability of water resources
- chemical and biological contaminants in the environment
