Notifiable disease guidelines

Alberta public health disease management guidelines, surveillance reports and references, forms, and documents for notifiable diseases.

Overview

The public health disease management guidelines provide policy direction for investigation and follow-up of notifiable diseases in Alberta. The guidelines are a collaboration between the Government of Alberta and subject matter experts for public health management of notifiable communicable diseases based on evidence-informed best practices.

The public health management guidelines support health practitioners in meeting the legal reporting requirements and appropriate public health actions legislated under the Public Health Act.
