Scarlett Lamontagne has certainly made a splash at the local Okotoks swimming pool!
At 15 years old, Scarlett has made a big impression on both staff and students as a volunteer with the Town of Okotoks Aquatics department. Since coming on board to teach swimming, Scarlett has demonstrated a buoyant personality and positive attitude as she teaches the finer points of water safety to students of all ages.
Scarlett’s work ethic has also caught the attention of her peers as she has taken on up to four volunteer shifts each week, spending up to five hours poolside during each shift. Along with the backstroke and freestyle, Scarlett is helping youngsters build the skills and character to face the waves – both in the water and those outside the pool.
For diving into volunteerism with energy and enthusiasm, Scarlett is mer-made for Northern Lights recognition honours!
