Introduction

The Government of Alberta is seeking public feedback on whether a parcel of land near the Silvertip Resort in Canmore should be considered for a change in land use.

Your input will help inform Government decisions about:

  • Amending the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (SSRP) to enable any required land use changes
  • Adjusting the boundary of Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park
  • Considering an All-Season Resort Area designation for the identified area

The questionnaire takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and closes May 14, 2026.

This public notice may be used in accordance with section 5 of the All-season Resorts Regulation for any future potential application directly related to this project.

In order to designate the area as an All-season Resort Area, the boundary of the Wildland Provincial Park would need to be adjusted, and the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (SSRP) would need to be amended to allow for this change.
