Overview
The Kananaskis Improvement District (KID) encompasses approximately 4,000 square kilometres of land.
Established in 1996, the Improvement District shares most physical boundaries with Kananaskis Country. The KID is the only Alberta municipal authority located within a provincial park, and virtually all its land base is owned and administered by the Government of Alberta.
The Chief Administrative Officer of the Kananaskis Improvement District is Kieran Dowling.
