Indigenous health – Call for Art

First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists of all ages and experience levels are invited to participate in a Call for Art.

Overview

Developing opportunities to amplify Indigenous voices to contribute to a culturally respectful and inclusive health care system in Alberta. First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists of all ages and experience levels are invited to participate in a Call for Art that highlights cultural values, traditions and perspectives on health care.

Showcase your art

Showcase your artistic perspective on First Nations, Métis and Inuit health care through the Indigenous Health Division’s Call for Art.

Selected artworks may be featured in Indigenous Health Division documents, on the Government of Alberta website and other platforms to foster respect for Indigenous cultural heritage. Submissions in all artistic mediums are welcome, accompanied by a brief biography explaining the significance of the artwork.

While there will be no financial compensation, your artwork being used in government documents is a unique opportunity to showcase your talent and culture.

How to apply

Applications can be submitted anytime as the Call for Art will be on a continuous, rolling call.

Review the Call for Art Guidelines before submitting your work.

Digital artwork submission

  1. Download the art release form, fill in and sign.
  2. Prepare the file for your digital submission.
  3. Prepare a brief biography explaining the significance of your artwork.
  4. Email the artwork file, signed art release form and biography  to [email protected].

Physical artwork submission

  1. Download the art release form, fill in and sign.
  2. Print a brief biography explaining the significance or your artwork.
  3. Package your physical art piece in an envelope with your signed art release form and biography and send by mail to:

How your art will be showcased

Your name will be showcased alongside your artwork in our publications. You will retain rights to your artwork and will provide a non-exclusive licence to promote your work through various publications.

A signed photo release form must be submitted for your entry to be considered.
