Introduction

The Hinton Training Centre (HTC) provides natural resource training for clients in government and industry. Operated by the Alberta government, the Centre is unique among educational institutions in the province. Since 1960, it has developed and delivered professional technical training programs in wildfire management and forest management.

The HTC campus is located on a 14-hectare area in the middle of Hinton, a town in the central Foothills region of Alberta. It includes an Academic Building, 2 residences, a fitness room, rappel tower, wildfire lookout tower, vehicle service garage, and self-guided museum and walking trail. Facilities can be booked by the Alberta government and other organizations. Find out more about HTC programs and services.
