Overview
The purpose of the grant is to support the service dog sector to increase capacity so that more Albertans with disabilities can obtain a qualified service dog. Eligible organizations can apply for funding to support one or more of the following activities:
- raise, train and place service dogs and provide ongoing client support
- provide pre-assessment training opportunities for owner-trained dogs to increase competency for the assessment
- conduct service dog qualification assessments
Eligibility
The grant application process is open to organizations located in and/or conducting business in Alberta. The organization must be approved as a qualified organization and be included on Alberta’s Qualified List of approved service providers or be a member with Assistance Dogs International.

Eligible organizations are notified at the beginning of the application period that applications are being accepted and are provided with submission instructions.
