Celebrate global cultures through food! Show your creativity by turning your favourite treat into art and sharing its story.
About the contest

Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Alberta and Alberta-accredited international schools are invited to celebrate global cultures through the universal language of food! Share a favorite snack and a personal memory or imagined story about it—then bring it to life with your artwork.

What to submit
  • Artwork: Depict a global snack, a memory or imagined scene, or its ingredients. Any medium is welcome. Use letter-size paper (8.5” x 11”) or larger.
  • Written Composition: Include the snack’s name, a brief description of the snack and your personal memory or imagined story.

Submissions deadline

Entries, submitted by mail or digitally, must be received by the International Education Services Branch by Friday, January 16, 2026. No late entries will be accepted.

Prizes and recognition

Winners will receive prizes, have their artwork featured in promotional material and will be invited to participate in a recognition ceremony in Spring 2026.
