Engagement status: Open until Oct. 30, 2018
Ministry responsible: Community and Social Services

We have made changes to the Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program in response to concerns raised by parents at listening sessions held in May 2018.

Those concerns, the changes made so far, and changes still in progress are outlined in the What we heard report.

We are holding additional listening sessions this fall to better understand the experience of families who access FSCD specialized services and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) process.

Engagement outcomes

Parents are invited to attend a listening session or provide feedback online.

The ideas you share will be used to:

  • improve our policy and processes
  • clarify the role of families and professionals in providing direct support to children

The sessions are also an opportunity to learn more about the FSCD regional and provincial parent advisory committees.

Attend a session

Listening sessions will be held across Alberta. Register to attend the session of your choice.

  • There is a limit of 50 people per session due to facility space.
  • Children are welcome to attend, however, child care will not be available onsite.
  • Child care costs for you to attend the session will be reimbursed.
