    • The Tech Skills to Employment Program at Bow Valley College (BVC) is a 26-week program including 16 weeks of classroom training followed by 10 weeks of work experience with an employer. Content includes elective courses that will be tailored to individual career goals. The course delivery methods combine self-paced online learning with in-class instructor support, allowing participants to progress through the program via different pathways depending on their skill level upon entry. The program will include computer proficiencies, information technology competencies, employment preparation skills, and work experience. The target occupations are database administration, computer programming, business analytics, network security, and virtual machine software. Other related occupations at a similar level may also be included.

    • Career Link Calgary is a Transition to Employment Services program, which provides services to unemployed and under-employed Albertans to better equip them to participate more fully in the workforce. Bredin will implement and develop strategies and services to meet client’s individual needs and support them back into the labour force as quickly as possible. Clients will have access to direct employment placement and supports, job matching and work experience.     • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright and Machinists) Pre-Employment Training is an Integrated Training Program that provides new Canadians with the opportunity to gain entry level skills and knowledge in the Millwright or Machining trade, and is the first step in the process of acquiring the Journeyman Certification through Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
    • The Information and Technology Bridging Program targets newcomers with backgrounds in information and technology. It is a 24-week program that includes employability and intercultural competencies, SAIT occupational skills training, and work experience placements.
    • Transition to Employment Services for Newcomer Professionals serves unemployed and underemployed immigrant engineers, technologists and technicians who have been impacted by the downturn in Alberta’s resource economy and require assistance to support their career transitions. Instructional workshops, coaching, job search activities, job placement, job matching and work exposure options.

    • Bridge to Success for Professional Immigrant Women, Immigrant Bridging Program - The program supports immigrant women with post-secondary education and/or work experience in administration, sales and marketing, community and social services and other related professions to attain Canadian work experience. The program includes 14 weeks of programming including workplace essential skills, workplace culture, job search and retention, business communication and advanced computer training as well as 10 weeks of work experience.

    • Supply Chain Training and Employment Program (Integrated Training) – Participants will benefit from a competency-based education model that is highly customized to meet the needs of Albertans in the Calgary region. Participants will receive relevant training in the dynamic Supply Chain industry. The program includes for everyone work experience and crucial core training in areas that are desired by Supply Chain employers as well as provides the option for participants to select specialized training streams of focus in Transportation (Class 3), Material Handling/Equipment Operation, Administration, or Frontline Supervision if desired and applicable to their career goals and labour demand. Training length will vary according to goals of each individual, but will range from 8 to 26 weeks.
    • WORKinYYC (Career and Employment Information Services and Workplace Training) – Clients in receipt of Income Support will receive a maximum of 18 weeks of individually focused training and work experience to secure sustainable full-time employment. The program will utilize a series of specialized workshops and one-to-one services to prepare for employment. The client will be matched with a potential employment opportunity and will be assisted with creating a workplace training contract for on the job training or paid work experience. Supplemental training may be arranged to provide additional basic skills to meet minimal job entry requirements. Clients will receive support to maintain employment once employed.

    • Empower – Women in Trades – provides an introduction to the trades for women in the Calgary area with an outcome of full time employment in the trades sector. Includes essential and employability skills, work experience, job placement and an introduction to wood trades, pipe trades, ironworker, heavy equipment technician and welding occupational skills. The training consists of one week of employment preparation training and 10 weeks of skills training introducing wood trades, pipe trades, welding, heavy equipment technician and ironworker.     • Transition to Employment Services provides job ready clients, up to 12 weeks of assistance with their job search skills.     • Construction Pre-Trades Integrated Training Program (IT) provides seventeen weeks of training in the pre-trades construction industry. Training includes employment preparation and essential skills training, and occupational skills training and work experience placements.

    • Self-Employment Program (SE). The SE provides unemployed or underemployed individuals with the opportunity and resources to start their own business. Over 30 practical training sessions, provided by industry experts, equip participants with the required business management information to start and operate their own business. Networking opportunities and up to one year of advising and consulting support from MNP LLP professionals is also provided.

    • Tech Plus Network and Cloud Technology Training (Tech Plus) is created to provide specialized Information and Communication Technology integrated occupational skills training programs to Albertans.     • Business Works Central Alberta Self-Employment Program provides professional business coaching and entrepreneurial skills training. This 16-week program will provide participants with a wide range of employment opportunities across many industries that employ ICT Professionals and consist of a blend of technical occupation specific and soft skills pertinent to current industry work demands. Graduates will be CompTIA A+ Certified to provide technical support, desktop support, network administration, IT Security, Service Desk Analysis and be ready to work in a variety of IT and non-IT sectors.
