Overview

The Community Initiatives Program (CIP) supports Alberta non-profit organizations that contribute to their communities and create engagement opportunities for Albertans. The CIP Organizational Development and Collaboration (ODC) Grant has 2 categories: 

Presentation board with a checklist.

Provides funding up to $50,000 to single non-profit organizations for organizational development activities.

Icon of a handshake.

Provides funding up to $100,000 for collaboratives to address a community, regional or non-profit voluntary sector (NPVS) issue.

Important dates

Applications are accepted on an on-going basis with 2 deadlines annually. The review and decision-making process takes approximately 6 months.

Notification of the application outcome is emailed to the contacts listed in your organization’s application. Successful applicants must submit final reporting within 24 months of the date payment is received.

Applying for more than one Community Grants Program

Eligible organizations and collaboratives may receive funding from both CIP ODC and CIP Project grants within the same fiscal year.

Applicants may also receive funding for one capital grant in a fiscal year from CIP Project or the Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP).

The fiscal agent and members of a collaborative that receives funding from the Collaboratives Grant funding category of CIP ODC are also eligible to receive funding through the Individual Organizations Grant funding category if they meet eligibility requirements.
