Location: Pincher Creek, Alberta

Sam is the volunteer president at the Pincher Creek Chamber of Commerce. When COVID-19 hit Alberta, Sam made supporting his community a priority. He built the Chamber a new COVID-19 update website overnight and put together webinars that offer training and support for every business. He helped make calls to all 400 registered community businesses to offer the Chamber's support and launched an initiative that waived Chamber fees so that all community businesses could access their resources and support network. Since March, he has put in more than 400 hours of volunteer time and continues to work at this pace.

Sam is also on the steering committee for the Foothills business recovery taskforce and has served as an advocate for his rural community. According to his nominator, “Many of our businesses are better informed and better positioned because of his tireless efforts.”
