David Qiao is a passionate youth leader and mental health advocate in Leduc. As a member of the Leduc Youth Council, David has led initiatives that empower youth, amplify diverse voices and provide supports for mental health.
David founded Open Minds, Open Pages, to promote open dialogue, mutual respect and mental health awareness in the region. He also launched Leadership Lab with Boys & Girls Club Leduc, delivering 4 interactive, peer-led sessions that foster personal growth, leadership development and community involvement.
As a community leader, David also spearheaded Life Unfiltered – an initiative that equips teens to make informed decisions about substance use and build resilience against peer pressure.
Through these projects, David has inspired his peers, created safe spaces for diverse perspectives and strengthened his community. David exemplifies how youth leadership can transform lives. For his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, David is honoured with Northern Lights Volunteer Recognition.
