Description: Alberta Emergency Alert: Overland Flow Flood Alert - in Woodlands County along Flats Road. Updated

Update 2 May 2018 @ 0945: State of Local Emergency remains in effect. Public Safety is still a concern and Woodlands County is working on a re-entry plan for residents. A tentative target to ensure essential services and access have been completed and restored is 4-5 days as Flats Road is extremely damaged in portions.

The Ice Jam on the Athabasca River in the Flats Road area broke up and dissipated, yesterday morning. Water is beginning to recede from the area, however, Flats Road remains impassable East of the Town of Whitecourt boundary in Woodlands County. Flats Road continues to be barricaded and people are asked to avoid the area until further notice. 10+ Residences affecting 34 individuals were evacuated.
