Overview

Transportation Infrastructure Management System (TIMS) is a web-based integrated software system designed for Alberta’s provincial transportation infrastructure to deliver optimum lifetime performance based on:

  • safety
  • socio-economic value
  • environmental sustainability
  • innovation

How to register

Step 1. Complete the self-registration process

Follow the instructions on the Transportation Extranet to ensure your access is processed efficiently.

Step 2. Activate your account

One to 5 business days after registering, you will receive an email confirming that your registration is approved. The email also lists your next steps to:

  • activate your account
  • create a password
  • confirm activation of the account

After you submit your account information, stay by your computer to make sure you can complete the next step within the hour.

Step 3. Confirm activation of your account

Watch for another email asking you to finish activating your account. You must complete this step within one hour of account activation.

Step 4. Log in

After you confirm your account, visit the Transportation Extranet and enter your user ID and password.

Step 5. Select the application system

After logging in, you will see the Transportation Infrastructure Management System (TIMS) Application screen. Select the application you have approval to access.
